The Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC) is an annual event promoted by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and by the Brazilian National Computer Networks Laboratory (LARC). Over the years, SBRC has become the most important Brazilian scientific event on computer networks and distributed systems, and one of the most demanding considering all fields of computer science. The impact of SBRC is endorsed by the number of submissions and by the number of attendees in the last editions. SBRC is nationally ranked grade A by CAPES, a Brazilian Government Agency for Research Support.
In its 27th edition, SBRC will be held on May 25-29, 2009 in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. Recife is a touristic and pleasant coastal city in Northeast Brazil, renowned for its sunny tropical climate, beauty, regional food and music. Recife is close to paradisiac beaches and historical sites. SBRC 2009 will be organized and coordinated by the Informatics Center (CIn) of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). The Symposium activities include technical sessions, tool sessions, short courses, panels, workshops, talks, and tutorials ministered by internationally renowned speakers.
